Although I am relatively late, MERRY CHRISTMAS!
I can say that although I didn't receive any gifts this year, I am grateful for spending time with my family, laughing and filling up on that good ol' Haitian food. I miss being around my family because I miss not being able to speak creole. Hearing English for too long at school gets me kinda depressed. Call me weird.
This past weekend, I spent sometime in my boyfriend's hometown of Philadelphia with his family. I had a blast. I got to meet up with a good friend of mine, spending time with his family, and exploring the depths of what Philadelphia has to offer.
Contrary to what people say, Philly is actually quite beautiful in it's own way. Now, a part of me has a high standard, considering that I am from New York City (nothing...NOTHING tops NYC), but I will admit, Philly is a great city also.

On Saturday afternoon, me and Sean went to visit our good old colleague who had moved out to Philly and was working as the mayoral aide (I never get tired of saying that, ha!). It was great seeing him again, and hanging out, especially since we're so far apart and don't get to hang out often, with the exception of birthdays. It was definitely a night of stupid dancing, laughs, shit-talking, and snazzy replies. We first hung out at his apartment for a while, and then my touristy self wanted to head out and explore an area called Center City. So around 5PM, we got up and took Septa (the equivalent of MTA) to City Hall. Walked around for a bit, ate at Chipotle, I took some pictures (forgive the crappy quality) and wandered around some
shops.
After hanging out, me and Sean retreated back to his house, napped, and proceeded to play Fire Emblem till super late (I finished it Sunday night *sad face*)
There was this comic book place that I'd been wanting to check out on South Street. On Sunday, to start our adventure, we kidnapped his little sister, and his best friend and made our way towards there.
The place was AMAZING. Though I didn't get to take pictures of it (I was overwhelmed with awesomeness), I couldn't help but sift through their anime posters, and found three amazing ones to hang in my apartment. And guess what, they were $6 total!! After the comic book place, we headed over to a frozen yogurt shop, where we hung out and chatted till we were ready to go.

Overall, I had a blast. It was great to hang out with my friends and well as his family. It always seems that whenever I spend time out there, I always end up sad when it's time to go. However, I am always welcomed to come back, and have more fun than the last time.
I got back to New York City Monday evening, after being stuck in 2 hours of traffic. A 2 hour and 30 minute ride turned into almost 5 hours, all because of the evening traffic. However, I made it. While waiting for my dad to pick me up, I took the chance to pull out my SLR and snap of a shot of the Empire State Building. I also realized how much I missed lugging it around, and made a silent vow to use it more during this break.

As for right now, I should be sleeping as I am supposed to be helping Dinah (my best friend) remodel her kitchen. I think I should go get a handle on that. Good night ya'll :)
Oh! And PS: here are my final grades. 0.05 points away from the Dean's List, but I honestly can't complain. Still think it's a great way to end my undergraduate career.
| Major and Minor degree, here I come!!!! |
